If you have a couple of spare hours...

• The harbour ferry Älvsnabben goes from Lilla Bommen by the Göteborg Opera House. The old shipyard area along the river has been transformed into an advanced centre for technical development, Lindholmen Science Centre, withexciting companies of the future and new housing.

• Alight at Klippan, a beautiful cultural heritage area with original period buildings. One of Europe’s best fish restaurants, Sjömagasinet, with a star in the Michelin Guide, is also located here.

• Take the tram (line 3 or 11) back towards the city and alight at Järntorget and visit Haga, the old quarter. Stop for a coffee at one of the many excellent cafés on the main street, Haga Nygata.

• Finish off with a walk along Vasagatan, with its impressive 19th century architecture, to the city’s main boulevard, Avenyn.
